Takeaways from the book - "Ganesha's secret by Devdutt Pattanaik"
I am not going to rate this book as for its genre(Mythology) because mythological interpretation always changes according to each interpreter's perspectives and research. I have jotted down a few points from the book to mention the secrets of Ganesha and the contents of this book.

🔹Food plays a fundamental role in allying fear. For elephant's great size due to access of lots of foods it makes elephant the least frightened animal of the jungle, that's why elephant is the symbol of power.
🔹Sthula sharira(Physical body), Sukshma sharira(mental body), Karana Sharira (third body which outlives death); and Trishul (Shiva's trident) conveys all of these bodies.

🔹 We all know the story of Ganesha's birth , that Parvati anoints her body with a paste of turmeric and oil, then scrapes it off, collects the rubbings which have mingled with her sweat, and moulds out of it a doll, thus Ganesha was born. But there was a secret behind this way of creation by Parvati.
🔹There are many stories related to Ganesha's birth and his elephant head.
🔹Ganesha's association with fertility symbols such as rats, serpents and blades of grass.

I haven't gone into detailed discussions of those above points as I want you to read the whole thing by yourself. This book has covered a detailed discussion of secrets along with scriptures, paintings and sculptures. There are lots of points which I didn't know earlier.
