The blue sky and I by Samiksha Tulika Ransom (A must read)

 "You are surprised when you find,

One more , giving up on life,

You say,

'Such young lives,

And so terribly despised ?

What a shame.'

'Why do people hurt themselves?

Why did they not ask for help?"

The blue sky and I

Rating - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐❤️

I read this book for #Popsugarreadingchallenge2020 under the prompt named 'read an anthology'. An upcoming author penned down beautifully in this anthology of poems about 'here and now' of existence as it comes.

"This is not just a poem, it is a lament; my personal lament.

When your existence becomes your enemy

And the person in the mirror is also the one who seems to be killing you

And you ask for an account,

 You exclaim, “I trusted you!” "

After a long time, I read an anthology which touched my inner soul. At first I tried to read like I read normally but I couldn't get anything from that, then I shifted to find its inner meaning by linking its title and its contents. It's inner concepts basically for this generation's people, who are day to day conquering themselves from alienated by society to fight back their depression alone. Those 31 poems will touch your every inner sense while reading this anthology. You can feel your pain and memorize your past or may feel your present situation in this anthology.

"Depression.

It wrecks, it breaks,

It comes flooding in waves.

Standing in the war,

 With an unsheathed sword I lose;

Even before I fight.

And this is the irony Of being armed,

When the Enemy is not without,

But is residing inside.

Who am I fighting?

What is this war?

Who can outlive,

This monster of times old?"

The narrations are splendid and the titles are catchy. It will make you intrigued by reading. You can finish it in 1 sitting too.

As it comes to dive into the summary of the anthology -

 The author took an initiation to introduce herself differently. She declared a refusal at first. She makes it clear why she is insolent and unashamed for the deeds which adults did to ruin their generation. This is the poem where her fullness of absence, her mourning from the burial of fallen mighty portrayed "your own existence will un-did you" . Those midas touches , those dreams that woke her up, those gift with a difference as in form of pain , those bluffs where the games were played during the day and made herself to feel better at night . The wait, that isolation, separations and false hugs as bigger tragedies and the phantom which still haunt her, which made herself yearn for salvation on the way of realising death and discords are not twins. Those euphemism by her loved ones, those farce about world health day where they declared 'they are listening' but they couldn't hear herself scream. Through the salty tasting strength, through mending herself day by day, the ordinary songs of weak became her miracle. Finally the weak have triumphed and patted herself on the back to make herself proud; through the crasefire day, the conflicting resolution came. By taking one breath at a day as daily wages, she is now feeling herself as an untamed wild horse ready to redemption. As the final day came after all of this she saw a clear light, her White Lie. As the blue sky rumbled, the cloud gave way. She decides that this world needs herself. She conquered herself.

"When questions you were asked,

Answers you became;

 And freely falling like grace,

Gently, the Resolution came."
